Pizza Pie, that's Amore

The inspiration for Verace Pizzeria stems from a passion for the authentic fire-roasted pizzas found throughout Italy for years and more recently in North America. For a century and a half, the pizza makers of Italy (or "Pizzaioli" as they are known in Italian) have been producing unique mouth-watering pizzas using the freshest ingredients available.

The world's first true pizzeria, Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba, opened in Naples in 1830, and continues to operate today. The traditional pizzeria of the 1800’s included a large brick dome oven, a marble counter where the dough was prepared and a shelf lined with ingredients. Pizzaioli often assemble the entire pizza on a marble counter right before the customer's eyes. The contemporary Italian pizza at Verace Pizzeria is prepared in the same way it was over 200 year ago. With a commitment to high quality ingredients and the same age old techniques, the unique flavour of authentic Italian pizzas is unmatched.  In Naples the true test of a well made pizza is whether it can be folded in half and then folded again into quarters without breaking or cracking the crust.

The pizza at Verace Pizzeria captures the pure essence of simple and delicious Italian food. Verace Pizzeria practices the techniques of the masters by using the key ingredients that make a traditional  pizza. Our kitchen uses produce from local farms whenever possible, and imports only the finest Italian ingredients.

Taking its cue from an authentic Italian pizzeria, Verace offers a fresh new approach to modern Italian cuisine by combining sleek interiors, a sophisticated but comfortable atmosphere, and a menu offering unique antipasti and gourmet pizzas. Verace is the perfect spot for any dining occasion, it appeals to a variety of guests seeking a casual, hip and upbeat venue with deliciously affordable fare. A long communal table in the lounge area invites diners to enjoy a warm plate, a glass of wine and each other’s company
